Wherever possible, we try to minimise our impact on the environment when running Villa Mimi in order to preserve the livelihoods of our communities and the beauty of nature – for example in our own garden. We are also committed to high social standards. Concrete sustainability measures include, for example
Thanks to the photovoltaic system on both sides of our roof, we can generate a large proportion of our electricity consumption ourselves and in a CO2-neutral way. This is particularly relevant on hot and sunny days when we use it to run the air conditioning systems.
In order to recycle and recover raw materials in our waste, we collect plastics, metals, paper and glass separately. The organic waste from our kitchen is recycled on a compost heap in the garden.
We use the compost produced from this as a soil conditioner for the plants in the garden.
As our impressive lighting in the garden consumes a lot of electricity overall despite the use of LED lamps, it is only switched on for a few minutes via a motion sensor.
